Laura graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois with a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and minor in mathematics. She worked as a middle school math and science teacher before starting her career in the field of early childhood education as a pre-kindergarten teacher and administrator. After relocating to North Carolina in 2007, Laura went back to school to obtain her North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials 1 and 2 and her Level 3 Administrative Credentials.
She has worked as a director of a full-time child care center in Durham since 2012 and is passionate about providing a high-quality early childhood environment to all students.
During her free time, you can find Laura and her husband watching their three sons play sports, taking a walk as a family, or wakeboarding on the lake.
