Volunteers are at the heart of all of Westminster’s ministries, especially those for children and youth. The goals of these ministries vary, but in all we do, our top priority is to maintain a safe and wholesome environment for children and youth.
Westminster takes this priority very seriously, and therefore has a Child & Youth Protection Policy for Preventing Sexual Abuse in place for the protection of children, youth, and the adults who care for them.
If you wish to volunteer with children and/or youth, you must:
- Complete the Child and Youth Protection Policy Training. New volunteers should participate in a training session offered at Westminster in August or January. Current volunteers should complete the online training module and test below every two years.
- Complete the Application and Background Check Consent Form on pages 9-10 of the Child & Youth Protection Policy, attesting that you have read and understood the policy. Return the completed form to the Office Manager, Director of Christian Education, or Associate Pastor for Youth Ministry.
