  2. Articles : Summer Choir

All are invited to sing with our Summer Choir, which provides anthems for worship through September 2, rehearsing only on Sunday mornings at 9:00am in the Music Room. Whenever you are in town, please plan to join us. Bring your friends and family members along, too. Children are welcome to sing, but those under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Summer Choir is a great way to sample choral singing with minimal time commitment, while providing a great service to your church.

  3. Articles : Holy Week 2018

Holy Week will be observed at Westminster with a “silent campus” and special worship services. Only support groups like Narcotics Anonymous and those that support Holy Week worship will meet on WPC’s campus. Our schedule will be:

    Sunday, March 25: Palm Sunday
The children’s Palm & Fish Bank Parade will take place at both services. Parents, please have your children in the Courtyard 10 minutes before each service to receive palms for the parade, and don’t forget the fish banks! (Extras in the Mission Center lobby.)

    Thursday, March 29: Maundy Thursday
A worship service will be held at 7:30pm in the Sanctuary. Come remember the intimacy of the upper room and the Last Supper as we gather around the table in communion.

    Friday, March 30: Good Friday
All are welcome to come for worship at 12pm in the Sanctuary.

    Sunday, April 1: Easter Sunday
Worship will take place at 8:30 and 11am in the Sanctuary. A Potluck Easter Brunch will take place at 9:45am in the Fellowship Hall. Please sign up to bring a dish to share.

  4. Articles : Singers, We Welcome You!

Westminster’s music program doesn’t just happen. It takes a village, as they say. Singing in the Chancel Choir is a very rewarding way to serve your church. Sometimes people are understandably afraid of taking on what they think may be a heavy time commitment. But, not to worry: we are extraordinarily flexible, as any member of the choir will tell you. Every commitment is valuable, whether it is long-term or short-term.

So if you are interested in music or enjoy singing, even if it’s been ages since you’ve sung, let us welcome you into the fun-loving, nurturing community that is our Chancel Choir. Music is essential to our life as a worshipping community, and we cannot keep our worship music strong and vital without participation from the church community. The Chancel Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm and on Sunday mornings at 10am.

It is not too late to join us as we prepare for Lent/Easter and our May 6 spring concert program. A choir retreat – focusing on the concert – will take place in the Music Room on Saturday, March 17, from 9:30am-12:30pm. We welcome you to come!

  5. Articles : New Hymnal Donations

Westminster is in need of additional hymnals! We’ll be purchasing new ones soon, and you can help. Here are five wonderful reasons to donate toward the purchase of these new hymnals:

    1. Thank a friend or family member who has supported you in your faith journey.
    2. Leave your mark on a pew in the Sanctuary.
    3. Celebrate the community of your Bible study, Church School class, or supper club.
    4. Honor the memory of a loved one or past saint of the church.
    5. Be a part of Westminster’s history.

Donations are $25 per hymnal. When you make your donation, be sure to indicate who your donation is in honor, memory, or celebration of, so the bookplate inside the hymnal is correct.

Make your donation by Sunday, March 4, online in myWPC or by picking up a donation form in the lobby and submitting a check or cash to the church office.
