    2019 All Church Retreat: For the Beauty of the Earth

    Looking for a way to get to know fellow church members of all ages better?
    Looking for a chance to get away with your family?
    Looking for some time to reflect on God’s work in your life?

    If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, then come to Montreat! Westminster’s intergenerational All Church Retreat is a time for fellowship, fun, quiet, play, and study. This year, we’ll explore the theme of God’s gift of creation and our own creativity. What better place than Montreat to experience the holy in God’s amazing creation!

    There will be time for hiking, reading, napping, snow-tubing, and exploring Black Mountain on Saturday afternoon. We’ll have a BBQ dinner Saturday evening, followed by square dancing! The retreat will finish with a casual worship service on Sunday morning. Childcare will be available during our program and worship time for children ages four and younger.

    • Retreat Cost  (includes Saturday dinner) Family: $85; Single: $40
    • Lodging Cost  Please provide your lodging preference when you register; the planning team will assign rooms and email you your remaining balance. Due to limited availability, rooms will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Cost below is for two nights’ lodging in the Assembly Inn.
      • One room (2 twin beds) with private bathroom: $170
      • Two rooms with adjoining bathroom: $280
      • Room share: $85
      • Private homes are available for rent around Montreat if you want to get together with a few people/families.
    • Food Cost Meals at Assembly Inn offer a great variety for everyone. Saturday dinner is included in the cost of the retreat. You MUST sign up for the meal plan (Saturday breakfast, lunch; Sunday breakfast) if you stay at Assembly Inn. Cost: Adult (12 and older) – $28; Child (age 5-11) – $14; Child 4 and under – free.

  2. Articles : All-Church Family Fun Day, August 18

    In lieu of our traditional Vacation Church School and due to Sanctuary renovations, Westminster will host an All-Church Family Fun Day, on Saturday, August 18, 10:00am-2:00pm, at Camp New Hope! There will be field games, a potluck cookout, swimming, and more. Make plans to attend this special day of summer fellowship!   3. Articles : Durham Bulls Night, August 9

    Westminster will have a night at the Durham Bulls baseball game on Thursday, August 9, when the team takes on the Columbus Clippers at 7:05pm.     Back by popular demand, WOW: First Wednesdays on March 7
    will be a Square Dance! Professional square dance caller Bo Bierley will lead us once again in a dance for all ages and skill levels. In addition to square dancing, we’ll get to learn other fun dances.

    Childcare will be available for children under age 3 by RSVP. Baked ziti will be available for dinner at 5:45pm; the dance begins at 6:30pm. Please sign up by Monday, March 5.


  5. Articles : Ekklesia

    We welcome you to join us for

    ekklesia

    a worship service @ westminster

    Come gather at the table for a time of worship service for all ages and stages of faith. Ekklesia aims to be a welcoming space for our community to deepen our faith together.

    Ekklesia meets at 4:00 pm on the fourth Sunday of the month in the Fellowship Hall. Upcoming dates are October 28, and November 25, 2018; January 27, February 24, and March 24, 2019. 

    During Ekklesia, we’ll share communion together, give our children spaces to participate and play, and join our voices in prayer and song. Come as you are, be welcomed into this space, and stay for snacks afterward.
