The Haiti Medical Mission Team is ready and eager to go on Saturday, September 23. There are 13 people going on this year’s trip: four nurses, four doctors, a pharmacist, a dentist, and three team leaders. Members of the congregation have been working hard over the summer to provide dresses, clothing, and medical supplies for the team to take.
The dress makers, led by Helen Harrison, have been finishing up the last dresses and hanging them for display. Ours, combined with dresses from Emma Anderson Memorial Chapel in Topsail Beach, will total between 350 and 400!
Jules Taylor has been sorting shoes and clothing donations to take to the boys. With the dresses, there will be more than enough items to give each child in the Cite Soleil school a new dress or a shirt and pair of shorts.
Under the watchful eyes of Jami Howell, Kay Wellemeyer, and Marla Dunham, some of our 6th graders counted and bagged over 9,000 pills to be ready for distribution. Kay then packed over 20 pounds of medications and supplies for each team member to take.
A huge THANK YOU to EVERYONE who helped or contributed in any way. Please pray for our team, that their work will reflect God’s goodness and grace, and that they return safely home. Keep up with the Team’s travel on the Mission Trip Blog.
