  1. Articles & Resources : Summer MissionX Registration Now Open!

Join Us for Wild Wonder:  A Creation Care Camp, July 11 – 15, 9:00am-12:00pm

Children (rising K-6th grade) are invited to a week of outdoor fun immersed in the wonders of God’s created world. Through daily devotions, nature study, and play, campers will learn that all of God’s works are good and that they themselves are beloved creations. Register now!

Why is it called “MissionX”?  You might have fond memories of Vacation Church School or maybe you called it Vacation Bible School. And you and your children have likely attended summer camp! MissionX includes the great things that make VBS and summer camps unique.  MissionX takes the Christian and the outreach aspects intended by most VBSes and also incorporates the fun and active outdoors aspects of many summer camps!  It then infuses the whole week with a strong emphasis on serving God, our community, and our world – making it a Mission eXperience eXtravaganza! Hence, MissionX! Check out the great time we had at last summer’s MissionX.

And why is it called “Wild Wonder: A Rocha’s Creation Care Camp”?  A Rocha USA is a national community of Christians working in biodiversity conservation to protect and restore vulnerable habitats, species, and communities. Their key areas of work in the US are marine conservation, climate action, and habitat preservation. There are A Rocha organizations around the world! This Creation Care Camp is one of the resources they have created to help children, parents and churches get outside to spark their imaginations as they learn about God and explore the world around them.

    Sunday, September 26
9:45 – 10:45 am in the Acolyte Room behind the Sanctuary
    For children in Grades 3 – 6

The word “acolyte” comes from a Greek word akolouthos meaning “companion” or “one who helps.” An acolyte serves God and God’s people by reminding all of us of the presence of the Light of Christ with us in worship and wherever we go. All children in Grades 3 – 6 are invited to learn about and be trained in this important ministry next Sunday during the Church School hour. Following this training, children and their parents are invited to sign up to volunteer during Worship services.
