February 18 is Scout Sunday at Westminster! Scouts from the Troops chartered at Westminster will help serve as worship volunteers, and we’ll hear more about the impact of scouting during the Sharing Our Mission. All are invited to a reception in the Parlor after the 11am service for cake, cookies, and popcorn. If you are a youth or adult member of a scouting group, wear your uniform to church that day.

If you have been over near the new property, you may have noticed a red octagonal structure across from the cabin. It is a gaga pit, constructed as part of an Eagle project by a Troop 451 Boy Scout. Gaga is a fast-paced, high-energy sport played in a gaga pit. ”Dubbed a kinder, gentler version of dodge ball, the game is played with a soft foam ball, and combines the skills of dodging, striking, running, and jumping, while trying to hit opponents with a ball below the knees.” (Gaga Center, “What is Gaga?”) The pit is available for all to use. Grab a gaga ball and have fun!

In last Sunday’s text Jesus and four disciples are in Capernaum on the Sabbath. Jesus walks right into the synagogue and begins preaching. The people are amazed, and so is a man with an unclean spirit. He cries out: “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God.” The spirit that identifies Jesus. I KNOW WHO YOU ARE, THE HOLY ONE OF GOD.Read more...
