  2. News : Rally Day Photo Contest

Rally Day 2012This year, we’re asking photographers of all ages and skill levels to take photos during the picnic and carnival celebration for our Rally Day Photo Contest. Here’s how it will work:

    1. Submit your photos to Communication Coordinator Kara Pearce by the end of the day on Monday, September 9. You can find her before you leave the Rally Day festivities and let her copy them from your camera’s memory card, or email them to her at kara@wpcdurham.org.
    2. The WPC staff will chose the top 5 photo submissions.
    3. We’ll share those top 5 in the September 11 newsletter, and you’ll have 2 weeks to vote on your favorite photo, either online or on the bulletin board beside the Mission Center’s front door.
    4. The winning photo will be revealed in the September 25 newsletter, and the taker of that photo will receive a gift card to Tutti Frutti for some tasty frozen yogurt!

  3. News : DCE Candidate Interviews

The DCE Search Committee has narrowed its search to four candidates and will be interviewing them in the next few weeks. Shortly after this round of interviews, they hope to bring in final candidates for in-person visits with the committee and other WPC staff. Their hope is to reach a final decision later this fall.

  5. News : Rally Day 2013

Rally Day marks our second 50th Anniversary event and the first Sunday we return to our regular Sunday schedule of two worship services. After the 11am service, there will be an old-fashioned picnic and carnival celebration.

The picnic will feature “comfort foods” with options for children and vegetarians. We’ll have live music, a Photo Contest, a bounce house, a magician/balloon artist, glitter tattoos, photo booth and other games.

For this special day, we will need both volunteers and several outdoor canopies. If you have a canopy to lend Westminster for the weekend, please contact Susan Ketch (smketch@yahoo.com). If you can help with set-up or clean-up, please let us know.

No RSVP is required to attend the post-worship festivities. But you can help the Rally Day team tremendously by signing up in the Mission Center or online via myWPC if you are planning to attend.
