Calling Chords: a women’s singing group performing for nursing homes; practices on Monday nights. Kathryn Bunch, 544.3836, kathrynbun@msn.com

New Hope Camp: meeting and event facilities between Chapel Hill and Hillsborough. 

Campus Ministsries: supports Presbyterian Campus Ministries at Duke, UNC. and NCCU.  

Community Mission Day: half-day workdays two Saturdays a year to conduct manual labor for some of the Durham ministries which WPC supports. 

CROP Walk: a seven-mile walk to support hunger related causes, usually late March.

Disaster Relief: teams work to repair properties damaged by natural disasters, most frequently Princeville/Tarboro, Hyde County, and Gulf Coast.  Paul Ransford, 489.4974, paul@wpcdurham.org

Durham Congregations in Action: an interfaith group of over 50 congregations seeking to do together what no single congregation could accomplish.

Durham Crisis Response Center: provides shelter and safety for abused women and children.

Durham Nativity School: a non-profit school for disadvantaged 6-8th grade boys. Sally Keener, 401.0799, sallyk@nc.rr.com

Food Bank: facility providing food for over 100 agencies in the Durham area.  Dana Lange, 490.9096, dana@onelangegroup.com

Genesis Home: a transitional home for families seeking stability and independence.  

Global Missions Committee: mission work outside of Durham; meets on second Wednesday nights.  

Habitat for Humanity: constructing homes for those in need.  Pete Jones, 489.7992, or Jack Davis, 403.1864 

Housing for New Hope: addressing the whole cycle of homelessness from prevention to transitional housing to affordable housing.  Doug Wellemeyer, 383.6503, dk.wellemeyer@verizon.net 

Interfaith Hospitality Network: providing meals, transportation, and a shelter at WPC for 1-3 homeless families who are on the edge of becoming independent; one-week visits every 3 months.  Need drivers, meals, overnight hosts, set-ups and break-downs. 

March 5th Group; a group of Presbyterians meeting every 1st Thursday at 7:30 am for breakfast to discuss Presbyterian matters and identify one college senior considered to be a leader to receive a one year scholarship at a Presbyterian Seminary. Sam Bryan, 942.4033, sam@durhambryans.com

Meals on Wheels: delivers nutritious mid-day meals to shut-ins;  assigned routes take less than 2 hours.

Mission Trips: opportunities to provide disaster relief to the Gulf Coast victims; trips are approx. 2 weeks.  Paul Ransford, 489.4974

NAMI (National Alliance for Mentally Ill) & Next Step Housing: assisting the mentally ill. Nancye Bryan, 942.4033, nancye@durhambryans.com

Presbyterian Urban Ministries: provides emergency counsel and aid to people on the edge of poverty. 

Presbyterian Hispanic Ministries: creating an Hispanic Presbyterian congregation in Durham. Dorene Palermo, 620.0156 dpalerm@attglobal.net

Project Graduation: provides a substance-free, all night party for 1800 high school graduates in Durham. Sam Bryan, 942.4033, sam@durhambryans.com

Shelter Meals: various WPC groups prepare and serve an evening meal for about 200 people at the Community Shelter on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Contact Bill Hatch, 490.6389 

Threshold: a day-time club for people with severe mental illness.   

Urban Ministries of Durham: contains the Community Shelter, the Methodist food and clothing pantry, and the Community Kitchen.
