Acolytes and Acolyte Guild: A branch of the Worship Committee, the Acolyte Guild members train and assist Acolytes to light the altar candles to begin worship and to extinguish candles to close worship. They light the tapers at the end and take the light of Christ out of the Church and into God’s world.

Building Committee: sees to it that our buildings are properly cared for.

Bus Driver: needs to be trained to drive our 15-passenger bus and have driving record checked. Paul Ransford, 489.4974, paul@wpcdurham.org

Care Team: provides meals, transportation, childcare and other essentials for members who are chronically disabled. Betty Berghaus, 489.4974, betty@wpcdurham.org

Funeral Committee: provides food for receptions following Memorial Services held at WPC.  

Geezers: make minor repairs, run errands, etc. in approximately 3-hour shifts once a week (when able). Barbara Fletcher, 489.4974, Barbara@wpcdurham.org 

Grounds Committee: oversees proper care of church grounds.

Hand Bell Choir: provides music for worship and other occasions; meets on Sundays at 4 pm, Kathryn Bunch, 544.3836, kathrynbun@msn.com

          

Inquirer’s Class: for those considering joining WPC

Kitchen Committee: equips and cares for the Fellowship Hall Kitchen as needed.  Dana Lange, 490.9096, dana@onelangegroup.com

Memorial Garden Committee: cares for the Memorial Garden.  Becky Walker, 929.0428

Nursery: The Nursery Committee organizes and oversees all childcare in the church. The committee meets once every three months to share information and ideas about the nursery program. Offering Counters: counts and records Sunday offerings immediately following 11 am services; 4 or 5 times a year. Mike & Kay Rosenmarkle, 489.1148, krosenmarkle@nc.rr.com

Office Help: serve as receptionist, or help with office administrative opportunities. Serve as needed.  Gail Reynolds, 489.4974, gail@wpcdurham.org

Recorded Books Library: organizes and cares for library of recorded books.  Stacy Hagerty, 493.4314, shagerty@townofchapelhill.org

Sanctuary guild: sees Sanctuary is cared for, flowers are provided and appropriate liturgical colors are in place. June Jones, 929.0360, junejones@nc.rr.com

Sound Technician: operates PA system in sanctuary for worship services & special events; 8-10 services a year. Contact Derek Leadbetter, 490.0754

Stephen Ministry: provide confidential care to members in need. This is a two-year commitment which includes 50 hours of training.  Betty Berghaus, 489.4974, betty@wpcdurham.org 

Sunday School Teacher:  teaching in teams of volunteers at any age level.  Most teachers teach at least 13 Sundays a year.  Nancy Rozak, 489.4974, nancy@wpcdurham.org

Supper Clubs::
    A good way to become better acquainted with a small group of WPC
    members! Supper clubs generally meet monthly for a meal (in some
    cases it’s lunch) and fellowship. Call the church if you wish to
    become part of a new or on-going supper club. Supper Clubs fit under
    the umbrella of the Fellowship Committee. For more information about
