Advent is a time of joyful expectation. It is also a time that is filled with loneliness, a time when grief is felt more acutely. The holiday season was difficult even before the terrible tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, last Friday.

As the church, we respond to life’s joys and sorrows in worship. We invite you to join us at 5:30pm on Wednesday, December 19, for a Service of Grieving and Hope in the Sanctuary. Please note that we will hold this service in lieu of the final Advent study and that childcare will be provided. We will offer our grief to God, spend time in prayer and with scripture, and gather around the Lord’s Table in hope.
