Saturday, November 12
9am-1:30pm at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
The Groundwater Presentation, sponsored by Organizing Against Racism, is a lively, participatory educational session that explores the complex origins of structural inequity in the United States. By examining characteristics of racism today, this presentation analyzes how structural inequity manifests and persists both within and across systems, including education, law enforcement, housing, and health care. Learn more about the presentation from First Presbyterian Church Burlington.
The presentation will begin at 9am and be led by Racial Equity Institute trainers Deena Hayes-Greene and Bayard Love. Following the presentation, we’ll have lunch and a Durham community forum facilitated by Jesse Huddleston and Desmera Gatewood of “DurmTalks.” DurmTalks is a welcoming, liberated space that bravely seeks to highlight local politics and community issues, all while bringing more parts of Durham together meaningfully.
Total registration costs for this program are $40 for adults and $20 for students. Lunch will be provided, and childcare is available by request. Register here. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
