Monday was a very eventful day. We started out by splitting up into our groups and headed to our different locations. David and Vickie’s group worked with the Good News Partners shelter where they painted a kitchen, bathroom and living area. Anne’s group went to the thrift store and sorted various items to help the store with organization. Walt’s group stayed at the church where WPC is staying and helped out by painting the front doors and gardening around the church. After a busy day, we all gathered together back at the church to get ready and go downtown for dinner. Much to our surprise, DOOR presented us with a challenge of simulating what it is like to be a homeless person. They provided us each with one dollar for our entire dinner meal and we managed to successfully do this by joining together and combining our money. Overall it was a very fun and exciting day! Please keep us in your prayers as we continue our journey of service throughout Chicago!
