At the time of the additions to the Holderness Mission Center in 1997, there was a small collection of library books. When additions to the building were complete, a room was designated as the WPC Library. At the same time, the Session appointed a volunteer to get a library up and running.
A committee was called together, and began thinking about a mission statement and organization for library books. A donation from Blacknall Presbyterian Church was cataloged along with books already on hand, all of which provided the beginning of a collection.
Additional books come from donations of church members and new purchases. There are currently more than 2,000 books in the WPC Library, which fill the available shelves.
The library reached an important milestone when it moved into the computer age! Guided by volunteers, the library progressed from a manual program, to a limited computerized program, to a full service commercial program.
The dedicated volunteers of the Library Committee continue to keep it running smoothly.
