Youth Council

The Youth Council plans and organizes youth programs and activities at Westminster Presbyterian Church that will encourage and support our youth in achieving their mission, which they have stated as follows:

 We are God’s Youth:

  • Connected to one another, WPC, and the greater church
  • Struggling with and constructing our relationships with Christ and each other in an environment of love and respect
  • Glorifying God in our service to the community, local and global.

We are God’s youth, growing, living, crying, laughing and serving together in Christ’s love.

The Youth Council also reviews the annual budget and addresses any issues or concerns affecting our youth or youth programs.

Notable accomplishments for 2007 include the following:

  • Relationship building and spiritual growth – Sr. High Chicks retreat, Sr. High Fall retreat, Montreat Youth Conference, Middle School lock-in, Sponsor training, mid-week Bible study, Sunday evening youth programs for Middle School and High School youth
  • Participating in the life of the church – Youth lectors and ushers, Love Feast, VCS, helped host Presbytery meeting
  • Social activities – Christmas party, Memorial Day family camp, Busch Gardens, bowling, snow ski trip, Fall youth and family picnic
