On October 19, 2006, B.Berghaus, as acting Moderator with the authorization of Moderator Bob Fields, via e-mail at 11:05 a.m., called an e-mail meeting of the Session to act on three items that had previously been discussed at prior Session meetings.

INTERIM PASTOR TRANSITION

Doug Wellemeyer has moved, and Alex Denson has seconded, that:

1)  We establish a Welcoming Committee for the Walchenbachs, under the leadership of Holly Schmidt.  This special subcommittee will report to the Session via the Fellowship Committee. (FYI, The Fellowship Co. is chaired by a Bill McAvoy, with Doug Wellemeyer as the Session member. Elders Doug Wellemeyer, from Fellowship Committee, and Kathryn Bunch, from Worship Committee, will join this committee.  This was discussed at the October 15 Session meeting.)

2)  We affirm the need for, and affirm, Doug Elvers as the church's continuing point of contact with the Walchenbachs until the day of their arrival.

3)  We discharge and thank the Interim Search Committee (Doug Elvers, chair, Beth Maxwell, Holly Schmidt, and Bill Scott) for all their wonderful work in securing the interim pastor. 

Later, on October 19, 2006 B.Berghaus reported via e-mail that nine Elders voted via e-mail replies in favor of all three motions and B.Berghaus declared that since a quorum of the Session voted, the motions pass.
