The Session of Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) convened for a called meeting at 9:20 a.m. on 10 September 2006 in the Sanctuary during the 8:30 a.m. Worship Service for the purpose of ordaining and installing a new Elder and installing a new Elder as designated earlier by the Session. The Acting Moderator, P.Ransford, called the meeting to order and opened it with a prayer.

Clerk D.Derr was present.

The Acting Moderator declared a quorum present.

ORDINATION AND INSTALLATION OF NEW OFFICERS

The Acting Moderator directed the newly elected Elders present to come forward and face the Congregation.

Elder J.Graham explained briefly the nature of the office of Deacon and the office of Elder.

Elders: The Elder-Elect to be ordained and installed was Kathryn Bunch and the Elder-Elect to be installed was Sara Pottenger.

The Associate Pastor for Congregational Care, B.Berghaus, addressed the Constitutional Questions of ordination and installation to Kathryn Bunch and Sara Pottenger to which they responded affirmatively.

The Acting Moderator addressed the Constitutional Question to Elders to Kathryn Bunch and Sara Pottenger to which they responded affirmatively.

Elder J.Graham addressed the Constitutional Questions to the Congregation, which were responded to affirmatively.

Kathryn Bunch knelt for prayer and the laying on of hands by all Pastors and Elders present. B.Berghaus offered a prayer of thanksgiving for the calling of these new Elders and then declared them to be Elders in the Church of Jesus Christ and for this Congregation.

B.Berghaus thanked the following Deacons completing their terms on the Diaconate: Dave Calderwood, Elena Cleary, Carol Cunningham, Morris Griffin, Rebecca Mattern-Melcarek, Bill Scott and Jim Tatum and the following Elders completing their terms on the Session: B.Derr, D.Elvers, C.Haynes and B.Nicoll for their three years of faithful service and leadership.

The Pastors, members of the Session and other participating Elders formally welcomed the newly ordained and installed Elder and the newly installed Elder into their fellowship in ministry.

The meeting was recessed with the singing of the hymn Here I am Lord at 9:30 a.m.

The Acting Moderator reconvened the meeting at 11:55 a.m. during the 11:00 a.m. Worship Service and opened it with a prayer.

 The Acting Moderator directed the newly elected Elders and Deacons present to come forward and face the Congregation.

Elder C.Haynes explained briefly the nature of the office of Deacon and the office of Elder.

Elders: The Elder-Elect to be ordained and installed was Bruce Cunningham and the Elder-Elect to be installed was Shayne Ruffing.

Deacons: The Deacons-Elect to be ordained and installed were Bill Burig, Scotti Harwood, Bill Hatch, Louise Holland, Jim Joseph, Darren Skeen, and Anne Vann.

The Associate Pastor for Congregational Care, B.Berghaus, addressed the Constitutional Questions of ordination and installation to Bruce Cunningham and to Bill Burig, Scotti Harwood, Bill Hatch, Louise Holland, Jim Joseph, Darren Skeen, and Anne Vann to which they responded affirmatively. 

The Acting Moderator addressed the Constitutional Question to Elders to Bruce Cunningham and Shayne Ruffing to which they responded affirmatively.

B.Berghaus, addressed the Constitutional Question to Deacons to Bill Burig, Scotti Harwood, Bill Hatch, Louise Holland, Jim Joseph, Darren Skeen, and Anne Vann to which they responded affirmatively. 

Elder C.Haynes addressed the Constitutional Questions to the Congregation, which were responded to affirmatively.

The Elder-Elect and the Deacons-Elect to be ordained knelt for prayer and the laying on of hands by all Pastors and Elders present. B.Berghaus offered a prayer of thanksgiving for the calling of this new Elder and all of these new Deacons and then declared them to be Elders and Deacons in the Church of Jesus Christ and for this Congregation.
