The Congregation of Westminster Presbyterian Church ("WPC") convened for a called meeting at 11:02 A.M. on 22 July 2007 in the WPC Sanctuary during the 11:00 A.M. worship service. Moderator J. Walchenbach was present, and he called the meeting to order and opened it with prayer.

The Moderator asked the Clerk if there is a quorum, and the Clerk declared a quorum present.

The Moderator explained that the purpose of the meeting was (1) to receive any further nominations from the floor for the Pastor Nominating Committee (“the PNC”) and (2) to elect the PNC. 

The Moderator explained that the ballots handed out by ushers as persons entered the Narthex has three sections so that there should be votes for four men, four women and one youth. He also explained that the guidelines for nominations from the floor were the following:

a.    If you are nominating a person, you must have received that person's permission to do so, and his or her willingness to serve on the PNC and the nomination must receive a second.

b.    Any person nominated today, needs to be written in on the ballot and voted for by placing a check mark or "x" next his or her name.  

The Moderator then opened the floor for further nominations, and no additional nominations were made.

The Moderator then announced he would entertain a motion that the nominations at this meeting be closed.

Motion: A motion that the nominations at this meeting be closed was made, seconded and approved.

The Moderator then announced he would entertain a motion that these persons be elected by acclamation.

Motion:  A motion that the following members be elected by acclamation to the PNC: John Atkins, Bill Bartholomay, John Graham, Doug Wellemeyer, Rebecca Mattern, Eileen McAvoy, Sue McCaughan, Mary Todd Peters and Grayson Schmidt was made, seconded and approved with sustained applause.

The Moderator then thanked the 2007 Nominating Committee consisting of Alex Denson, chair; Bruce Cunningham, Bill Hatch, Ralph Coonrad, Anthony Dilweg, Jennifer Feiler and Susan Ketch for its outstanding service and the Congregation voiced its appreciation with sustained applause.

The business for which the meeting had been called having been completed, the Moderator adjourned the meeting at 11:08 A.M. and closed it with a prayer.
