The Session of Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) convened for a called meeting at 4 p.m. on 30 April 2006 in room 105 of the WPC Mission Center.  The meeting was called to order by the Moderator, H.Holderness, and it was opened with a prayer by N.Gaddis.

Associate Pastors P.Ransford and B.Berghaus were present.

Elders F.Anton, B.Derr, A.Denson, D.Elvers, N.Gaddis, J.Graham, C.Haynes, S.Landis, B.Nicoll, M.T.Peters and D..Wellemeyer.  Elder J.Jones was absent and excused.

Clerk of Session D.Derr was present.

Also, present was WPC Elder Beth Maxwell, who was assigned to Laura Graham as a mentor.

The Moderator declared a quorum present.

Examination of Confirmands:

The Moderator divided the members of the 2006 Confirmation Class into four groups with the following Elders as the facilitators for their respective group: C.Haynes, B.Derr, D.Elvers and D.Wellemeyer to be examined by the Session.  The facilitators then took their respective groups to the designated area and proceeded with the examination.

Motion:  A motion sustaining the confirmation examination of all of the members of the 2006 Confirmation Class who were present, and enrolling them as active members of WPC by the pertinent procedures prescribed in the Book of Order was made, seconded and approved.

The confirmation of the 2006 Confirmation Class is to occur during the 11:00 worship service on Youth Sunday, 7 May 2006.

Baptism:

Motion: A motion authorizing the Baptism of Shelby Maria Rimmler, daughter of Jacqueline and John Rimmler, Jr. on May 7, 2006 was made, seconded and approved.

Appointment of Commission to Examine Confirmand Erin Marie Francis, daughter of Joan and Roger Francis

The Moderator appointed a Commission of the Session consisting of B.Derr and J.Graham as Commissioners to interview and examine Confirmand Erin Marie Francis before the 11:00 worship service on Youth Sunday, 7 May 2006.

The Session's current business, having been completed, the Moderator declared the meeting adjourned at 5:25 p.m. and it was closed with a prayer of thanksgiving for and celebration of the 2006 Confirmation Class as an adjourning prayer offered by S.Landis.
