Interim Update - Welcome Jack!

On Wednesday, September 13th, the Session approved the recommendation
of the Interim Search Committee to issue a call to the Rev. Dr. Jack
Walchenbach of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, to serve as the interim pastor
for Westminster beginning November 1st of this year.

Jack Walchenbach is a member of Florida Presbytery and
has served several churches in his career including:

Pastor/Head of Staff, First Presbyterian Church, Fort

• Walton Beach, Florida (400 members); Pastor/Head of

• Staff, Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, Dallas, Texas,

• (3,400 members); Pastor/Head of Staff, First Presbyterian

• Church, Deland, Florida (1,100 members); Senior Associate

• Pastor, First Presbyterian Church, Orlando, Florida (4,000 members).

Jack’s church-wide administrative and service activities experiences include:

• Chair - Mission Strategy Division, Florida Presbytery, six years

• Member - Committee on Ministry, Florida

• Presbytery, five years; Member

• Search Committees for Executive Presbyter and two Associate Executive positions;

• Chair - Council, Synod of Florida.

Since his retirement in 2005, he has served as a stated supply
pastor one day a week plus Sunday for a small congregation
of 70 members near Fort Walton Beach.

Jack Walchenbach’s academic achievements include:

• A.B. Chemistry, Hope College

• M.Div. Theology, New Brunswick Theological Seminary

• Th.M. Historical Theology, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary

•  Ph.D. Church History, University of Pittsburgh

Jack and his wife, Pat, have two sons and four grandchildren.
