BudgetWhile reviewing the 2008 budget, Betty discussed that the Stephen Ministry is over budget because two people were sent to training this year. There was discussion regarding the Shelter Meals budget. Bill stated that in 2008 there were several months that were not assigned to a specific group (ie. Providing funds for the meal) and that the number of guests has risen from approximately 175 to 250 guests to feed.
In discussion for the 2009 budget, Walt stated that Barbara needed a completed budget request so the organizations that were not discussed in the last meeting due to not having enough information were input at the same level as 2008. He has a copy of the information sheets for all of the organizations and made a recommendation to the Deacon’s for next year to liason with each agency so we will know more about each group we support. Bruce Capehart also reminded the group that it is important to have a Deacon representative on the Ways and Means committee to speak up for getting sufficient funds for Deacon Inreach/Outreach.
